Alabama Fire Crackers

Ingredients

  • 2 sleeves saltine crackers about 200 crackers
  • 1 cup canola or vegetable oil
  • 1 packet (1 oz) dry ranch dressing mix
  • 2 tbsp red pepper flakes adjust to taste
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper optional

Instructions

  • In a large zip-lock bag, whisk together oil, ranch mix, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne.
  • Add all saltine crackers. Seal and gently flip/rotate to coat evenly.
  • Marinate at room temperature at least 4 hours, flipping every hour. Overnight is best.
  • No baking needed! Serve from bag or transfer to a bowl. Store airtight up to 2 weeks.

Notes

Overnight marinate gives best flavor. Start with 1 tbsp red pepper for mild, 3 tbsp for very hot. Great gifts in mason jars!
