Melted Snowman Chocolate Bark

Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 5 minutes
Total Time 20 minutes
Servings 10 pieces

Ingredients

Chocolate Base

  • 2 cups dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp coconut oil optional, for smoother melting

Snowman Topping

  • 1 cup white chocolate chips or candy melts

Decorations

  • candy eyes about 20-24
  • orange sprinkles or small orange candies for noses
  • mini M&Ms or candy buttons for buttons
  • pretzel sticks broken in half, for arms

Instructions

  • Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Melt the dark chocolate chips (and coconut oil if using) in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until completely smooth.
  • Spread the melted dark chocolate evenly onto the parchment paper in a thin layer, about 1/4 inch thick.
  • Let the dark chocolate set for about 5 minutes until slightly firm but still tacky.
  • Melt the white chocolate chips in a separate bowl using the same microwave method.
  • Spoon dollops of melted white chocolate onto the dark chocolate base in irregular puddle shapes to resemble melting snowmen.
  • Working quickly, press candy eyes, an orange candy nose, candy buttons, and pretzel stick arms into each white chocolate puddle.
  • Let the bark set completely at room temperature for 30 minutes, or refrigerate for 15 minutes.
  • Once firm, break the bark into individual snowman pieces and serve.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week, or refrigerate for up to 2 weeks. White chocolate is sensitive to heat, so melt it slowly to prevent seizing. Have all decorations ready before spooning the white chocolate, as it sets quickly.
